Warragul Linen Service is conscious of its impact on the environment and maintains a harm reduction program whilst operating at the highest standard. We recognise our responsibility to shape practice and promote behaviours that contribute to environmental sustainability.
We support sustainable energy management practices through a range of strategies documented in the West Gippsland Healthcare Group Environmental Management Plan (EMP). The EMP sets environmental targets to measure and monitor energy against and sets a governance structure to manage energy consumption.
We also contribute to environmental sustainability through:
Water saving initiatives - recycling water and capturing rain water for production use and reducing reliance on steam based technology
Management controls - trade waste
Upgrades to major infrastructure which reduces energy consumption
Introduction of new textiles products that require less processing time
